A night of stand-up comedy and live Hip Hop is headed to the Historic Everett Theatre

Punchlines with Purpose, produced by Amplified Live, pairs three comedians with three rap artists and a DJ for a single evening that organizer Bill Snickers built around the Second Chance Foundation, a Snohomish County organization supporting individuals dealing with those same struggles.

The event is on July 18 with proceeds benefiting a local nonprofit that serves people facing homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges.

"I've had to have second chances, even third chances," Snickers told the Lynnwood Times. "Mental health and addiction have really affected all of us, whether once or twice removed."

Everett resident and veteran comic Taylor Clark hosts. Clark, a Seattle Comedy Festival judge who has been performing stand-up for roughly 20 years, previously recorded a comedy special at the same theater.

He'll be joined by Seattle comic Luke Severeid, who has 553,000 social media followers and a Best Comedy Film win at the HUMP! Film Festival, and Lynnette Manning, recognized by Forbes as a rising AAPI stand-up comedian to watch.

On the music side: ARO The MC, Neema, J-Kro, and DJ Rob Streets.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show runs 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets range from $29.11 to $64.03 (including fees) on Eventbrite. The Tulalip Tribes and Scuttlebutt Brewing are sponsoring the event.

The Historic Everett Theatre is at 2911 Colby Ave.
