The Port of Everett added a covered, trolley-style shuttle called the Trawley to its free waterfront fleet this summer, completing the program's third season with colder-month service plans still taking shape.

The Trawley's name is a nod to the waterfront's commercial fishing heritage, printed on the vehicle's side.

It offers weather protection and luggage storage, joining three electric golf carts already in the fleet. One cart has accessibility features. All four vehicles are fully electric and free to ride.

"It's more eye-catching than the traditional golf cart would be," Kate Anderson, the port's marina manager, told The Daily Herald. "We have the fun branding as a nod to our commercial fishing history."

During summer 2026, the shuttle ran 4–9 p.m.

Thursday through Sunday across nine stops spanning the 100-acre waterfront, from Jetty Landing Park to Anthony's HomePort Everett. A stop map is posted at portofeverett.com.

A schedule for colder-month service is expected to be announced in September, according to the Herald.

No Port commission vote or budget allocation for year-round operations has been publicly confirmed.

The program started in 2024 when construction closed visitors' parking lots. Drivers ferried boaters to their gatehouses.

Then riders began requesting restaurant and park drop-offs, Anderson said, and the service grew from there.

Demand picked up during large events. World Cup watch parties drew more than 850 shuttle riders in four days, the Herald reported.

Ryan Crowther, founder of Everett Music Initiative, told the Herald the shuttles helped manage crowd flow during Music at the Marina concerts, which can draw as many as 10,000 visitors over a four-hour show.

That concert series wrapped its 2026 season Aug. 27. The waterfront's restaurants stay open year-round.

The waterfront logged 1.6 million site visits in 2024, according to a Port of Everett press release.

At full build-out, Waterfront Place is planned to include up to 660 housing units, 63,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, and two hotels.
