Providence Everett’s new cancer infusion center filled up years ahead of schedule, prompting the hospital to expand the facility just months after opening.
The center, which opened in September 2025 with four treatment chairs, reached its seven-year patient volume goal within months and quickly doubled capacity to eight chairs.
Providence now plans to add 10 more infusion chairs and an exam room, though no timeline has been announced.
The growth reflects a demand for more local cancer care, as patients from Snohomish and Island counties previously had to travel to Seattle or Edmonds for many treatments.
The Everett center provides chemotherapy infusions along with support services such as social workers, dietitians and access to clinical trials.
“This screamed to us that there was a need in our community to provide this care close to home,” said Dr. Ashwani Rajput, regional executive medical director of Providence Swedish Cancer Institute.
Providence Swedish is also expanding cancer services at Swedish Edmonds, which doubled its infusion capacity in June.
