The Everett Silvertips are losing the architect of their scouting operation to the NHL.

Brooks Christensen, the team's director of scouting for the past two seasons, accepted an amateur scout position with the Florida Panthers, the Silvertips announced Thursday, July 3.

Christensen helped build the roster that delivered Everett its first WHL Championship in 2025 and a Memorial Cup appearance in 2026.

"Brooks has done a tremendous job in his two years here running the Prospects Draft, managing our scouting staff and helping me with roster management among countless other duties," general manager Mike Fraser said in a team statement. "He's a very smart young man with a bright future in this game."

Fraser credited Christensen with helping "restock the cupboards with promising draft picks and listed players" and called the hire proof that the Silvertips develop staff, not just players.

Christensen, 33, came to Everett from the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the BCHL, where he spent eight seasons, including five as general manager.

Under his watch, the Silverbacks made the playoffs in all four eligible seasons and reached back-to-back Conference Finals in 2023 and 2024. A Salmon Arm, B.C., native, Christensen scored 172 points in 189 career KIJHL games before moving into coaching and management.

His two seasons in Everett coincided with a historic run. The Silvertips won the 2025 WHL Championship with a 16-2 playoff record, captured a second straight Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy (regular-season title) in 2025-26 with 54 wins and 111 points, and competed in the Memorial Cup in Kelowna for the first time in franchise history.

Along the way, the scouting pipeline produced NHL draft picks, including defenseman Brek Liske, taken 53rd overall by the Philadelphia Flyers at the 2026 NHL Draft after posting 17 points in 18 playoff games.

Christensen joins a Panthers organization that won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2024 and 2025. Panthers prospect Shea Busch, a 2025 fourth-round pick, scored a hat trick in the WHL Championship-clinching Game 5 for Everett, giving Christensen a direct connection to the Florida front office.

The Silvertips said they have begun searching for a new director of scouting. No timeline or candidates have been disclosed.
