The Everett AquaSox opened a six-game homestand against the Eugene Emeralds on July 21, at Everett Memorial Stadium, returning to their home park for the first time in two weeks with four of their top hitters promoted out.
The Seattle Mariners moved outfielder Jonny Farmelo, infielder Felnin Celesten, catcher Josh Caron, and reliever Lucas Kelly to Double-A Arkansas on July 20, according to the Everett Herald.
Celesten, Farmelo, and Caron each ranked in the top six in OPS among qualified Northwest League hitters.
Celesten, 20, led the NWL in batting average (.314) and OPS (.943). He hit for the cycle on Friday, June 26, and carried a 25-game hitting streak earlier in the season. Caron, 22, led the league with 19 home runs and a .579 slugging percentage through 66 games, capping a turnaround from a .197 average in 2025. Farmelo, 21, ranked as MLB Pipeline's No. 60 overall prospect and posted an .863 OPS with 62 walks and 26 stolen bases. Four replacements arrived from lower levels. Outfielder Korbyn Dickerson, Seattle's No. 11 prospect, hit .276 with nine home runs in 77 games at Single-A Inland Empire. Outfielder Aiden Taurek (.280, .842 OPS) and infielder Ricardo Cova (.290 batting average) also came up from Inland Empire, while pitcher Pedro Da Costa Lemos returned from the Arizona Complex League.
The series carries postseason weight. Everett entered Tuesday tied with the Spokane Indians atop the NWL second-half standings at 15-9, per the Herald.
The second-half champion earns a berth in the September NWL Championship Series against first-half winner Eugene. The AquaSox could be previewing a playoff rematch with the same club they beat for the 2025 title.
The homestand runs through Sunday, July 26. Friday, July 24, features BrewFest with 13 breweries and bar bites ahead of the 7:05 p.m. first pitch. Saturday, July 25, brings Christmas in July with AquaSox Santa Hats for the first 1,000 fans, followed by a postgame fireworks show.
Dickerson makes his Everett debut against the team the AquaSox beat for last year's championship and may need to beat again in September.
