Cascade boys tennis blanked Marysville Getchell 7-0 on Monday, Sept. 21, at Cascade High School, dropping just one game across all three doubles matches.

Jackson picked up a 5-2 road win over Glacier Peak at Glacier Peak High School on the same Sept. 21 slate of Wesco action.

Cascade 7, Marysville Getchell 0

The Bruins' four singles players made quick work of the Chargers. Jiang Yang beat Jonah Crain 6-0, 6-0. Kai Loeung beat Gabe Elder 6-0, 6-0. Ted Trinh beat Chris Almeda 6-0, 6-0. Clarence Bobadilla had the closest singles match, winning 6-4, 6-0 over Sawyer Hurja.

Doubles was even more lopsided. Stony Bik and Liam Manoppo won 6-0, 6-0. David Tran and Dylan Siayngco won 6-0, 6-0. Jordan Marquez and Tri Tran won 6-0, 6-1, the only set all afternoon in which Marysville Getchell won more than zero games.

It was Cascade's second 7-0 sweep of Marysville Getchell this fall, according to The Herald's prep roundup. The Bruins also shut out the Chargers on Sept. 8 at Marysville Getchell. Cascade has now won five straight matches after opening the season with a loss to Kamiak on Sept. 3.

Jackson 5, Glacier Peak 2

The reigning 4A state champion Timberwolves split singles 2-2 with Glacier Peak but swept all three doubles matches to pull away.

Sam Song won first singles 6-2, 6-1 over Marcus Xu. Jacob Chiang gutted out the tightest match of the day, falling behind a set before rallying to beat Ethan Work 4-6, 6-4, 11-9 in a third-set tiebreaker.

Glacier Peak took the other two singles points. Aarnav Arora won in straight sets over Saurish Srivastava 6-1, 6-1. Abhinav Mederametla rallied from a set down to beat Vivaan Pillai 1-6, 6-3, 10-6.

Jackson's doubles teams left no doubt. Andy Stark and Ryan Wijaya won 6-0, 6-1. Rajveer Lahankar and Arhan Sinha won 6-0, 6-1. JJ Moreno and Chris Cho closed it out 6-0, 6-0.

The Timberwolves have won three state titles in the past five years and returned eight of 10 starters from their championship squad this fall under coach David Hutt. Jackson's only loss this season came Sept. 8 against Mercer Island. After the Timberwolves' season-opening win over Shorewood on Sept. 3, Hutt told The Herald his players carry "a quiet confidence about them."

Glacier Peak entered the Sept. 21 match with wins over Lake Stevens and Arlington earlier in September.
