Everett High's girls swim team edged Marysville Getchell 66-65 and Mariner 67-66 on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Both wins came at a Wesco North multi-team meet hosted by Marysville Pilchuck.

The two victories came by a combined two points. Host Marysville Pilchuck handled the Seagulls 74-55 in the third dual of the afternoon.

Lillian Luxmore led Everett in the pool. She won the 100 breaststroke in 1:43.49 and swam a leg of the 200 medley relay team that opened the meet with a first-place finish in 2:46.31. EmmaLee Stewart, Liyla Kirk and Elsbeth DiMartino joined Luxmore on that relay.

Those were Everett's only event wins of the day, according to results published by The Herald. Marysville Pilchuck dominated the individual races. Hallie Higgins took the 200 freestyle (2:14.74) and 100 backstroke (1:09.33), while Zoey Getty won the 50 freestyle (29.73) and 500 freestyle (7:03.55). Across town, fellow Everett Public Schools programs split results Tuesday. Jackson rolled past Edmonds-Woodway 126-57 in a Wesco South meet at West Coast Aquatics. Elliana Lam won the 50 freestyle in 25.47 seconds and Charlee Worcester took the 200 individual medley in 2:20.52 for the Timberwolves. Cascade fell to Lake Stevens 130.5-52.5 in Wesco North action, though Bruins swimmers Alana Dewing and May Phut each claimed two individual event titles.
