Mike Price, the Everett High School graduate who turned Washington State into a Rose Bowl program, will be inducted into the Snohomish County Sports Hall of Fame on Wednesday, Sept. 23.

Snohomish County Sports Commission announced Price is one of seven individuals in the 2026 class, joined by a dominant Archbishop Murphy High School boys soccer dynasty that won three consecutive WIAA 2A state championships from 2015 to 2017.

The son of Walt Price, the longtime head football coach at Everett Junior College, Mike Price grew up in Everett and played alongside future national championship coach Dennis Erickson at Everett High.

He went on to lead Washington State for 14 seasons, compiling an 83–78 record with three 10-win campaigns, two Rose Bowl appearances, and a 1997 National Coach of the Year award.

His roots run deep.

The full individual inductee list: Megan Amundson (volleyball), Mitch Canham (baseball), Erik Norgard (football), Mary Parker Etter (track and field), Sidney Rielly (basketball), Price (football coaching), and Bob Cummins (rowing, Frank Foster Sports Contributor award).

Canham, a Lake Stevens High School product, won back-to-back College World Series titles at Oregon State in 2006 and 2007 before being drafted 57th overall by the San Diego Padres.

He now coaches the Beavers, posting a 269–117–1 record. Norgard, an Arlington High School alum, played 108 NFL games with the Houston Oilers and New York Jets.

The Archbishop Murphy soccer teams went a combined 63–2–1 across those three title seasons, including a perfect 22–0 finish in 2017 capped by an 8–0 state final rout of East Valley.

Coach Mike Bartley earned Herald Coach of the Year honors all three seasons, and captain Matt Williams was named 2017 Washington State Gatorade Player of the Year.

Guest speaker Curt Marsh, a Snohomish High School alum who starred at the University of Washington and appeared in the 1978 and 1981 Rose Bowls for the Huskies, was a first-round NFL draft pick who played for the Oakland Raiders from 1981 to 1987 and won a Super Bowl ring.

The banquet will also honor the 2025–26 Everett High School Boy and Girl Student Athletes of the Year and the 2026 Collegiate Male and Female Athletes of the Year, with names to be announced in coming weeks.
