More than 120 regional artists will line Hoyt Avenue on Aug. 15–16 when Schack Art Center's Fresh Paint Festival takes over downtown Everett for two free days of original artwork, live demonstrations and family activities.

The festival runs Saturday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Hoyt Avenue between Pacific Avenue and Hewitt Avenue, directly in front of Schack Art Center at 2921 Hoyt Ave. Admission is free.

Fresh Paint historically draws more than 10,000 visitors across the weekend, according to Schack's vendor guidelines, making it one of Snohomish County's largest celebrations of the visual arts. Artist vendor spots for 2026 are already sold out.

"Fresh Paint offers something you can't experience at every festival," executive director Raedle Alburn said in the center's Aug. 5 announcement. She said visitors can meet artists, watch them work and ask questions about the craft behind each piece.

All artwork sold at the festival must be original and handcrafted by the exhibiting artist. No third-party sellers are permitted.

Inside Schack's Hot Shop, glassblowers will work in front of the public throughout the weekend. Studio demonstrations include Andrea Lewicki on collage, Adam Wallace on stained and fused glass, Nick Colella on gesture drawing from a live model, Andy Ross on lino cut printmaking, Leslie Dickinson on cabochon cutting and Zhuo Wang on mother of pearl inlay.

Live entertainment features performances by The Dance School and Santana Charro Bros. Kids' activities include face painting, balloon art, a chalk zone, community art projects and magic ink.

Visitors can also try Float Find Bingo: pick up a card at the Orange Schack Booth, complete the tasks and enter a drawing for a handblown glass float made by Richard Langley, Schack's glass studio manager and owner of Cloud Cap Glass.

A parallel "Summer in the City Float Find" rewards shoppers who make a purchase at any participating downtown retailer or restaurant during festival weekend with an entry slip for a second float drawing.

Slips can be returned to the Downtown Everett Association booth in Wetmore Plaza on Friday, Aug. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. or Saturday, Aug. 15, from noon to 8 p.m.

Free gallery admission to Schack is included during the festival, along with open studios and free art-making for all ages. While inside, visitors can catch the center's 24th Juried Exhibition, "Present Tense," on display through Aug. 22.

Food vendors on-site include Voltage Espresso Little, Jamie's Donuts, Wobbly Bits Baking, Caribbean Cuisine, Kettle'n'Pop and International Foods, with additional restaurants within a block or two of the festival footprint.

Street parking is free all day on weekends. The EverPark Garage at 2815 Hoyt Ave. charges $1 per hour. Full schedules and the participating artist list are available at schack.org.
