Everett's waterfront ferry to Langley is getting a midday boost. Starting Saturday, August 1, the Harbor Hopper will offer a 1 p.m. Saturday departure from Port of Everett Marina Dock 1, giving riders three roundtrip options on sailing days instead of two.
The Port of Everett announced the expanded schedule on Monday, July 27, calling it a direct response to "overwhelming community feedback" requesting a midday sailing.
"You asked, we listened — and thanks to our port partnership and flexibility of the Hat Island Ferry crew, we are enhancing the Harbor Hopper schedule," Catherine Soper, the Port of Everett's chief of business development and tourism, said in the announcement.
The walk-on passenger ferry, which launched June 4 aboard the chartered 45-passenger Hat Island Ferry, connects Everett's marina with South Whidbey Harbor at Langley. Each crossing takes roughly 30 to 45 minutes. No car needed.
August schedule
Saturdays (August 1, 15, and 29):
- Departing Everett: 10 a.m., 1 p.m. (new), 6 p.m.
- Departing Langley: 11 a.m., 2 p.m. (new), 7 p.m.
Thursdays (August 6, 13, 20, and 27):
- Departing Everett: 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- Departing Langley: 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Thursday evening sailing times have shifted earlier for the remainder of the pilot, though the Port did not specify the previous departure times.
Fares and tickets
Fares range from $10 to $12 one-way and $16 to $20 roundtrip. Tickets are available at portofeverett.com/HarborHopperTickets.
Everett departures leave from Marina Dock 1, behind Anthony's HomePort Everett. Langley departures leave from the main dock at South Whidbey Harbor.
About the pilot
The Harbor Hopper is a pilot program running only through the end of August 2026. According to the Port of Everett, the trial is testing demand for a potential permanent passenger-only ferry route between the two port districts.
Jim Pivarnik, executive director of the Port of South Whidbey, said the program has already boosted visitation to Langley and credited the partnership with the Port of Everett and the Hat Island community for making it work.
