Naval Station Everett's commanding officer will outline the base's priorities and its estimated $340 million annual economic footprint in Snohomish County at a public luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 15.

Capt. Stacy Wuthier is scheduled to deliver the annual State of the Station address at the Port of Everett's Blue Heron room from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event, co-hosted by the Economic Alliance Snohomish County (EASC) and presented by the Port of Everett, is open to the public, as first reported by the Lynnwood Times. Registration costs $50 and includes a lunch buffet. EASC investors are eligible for a discount, though the discounted price has not been announced.

The numbers behind the base

The $340 million figure comes from the Navy Region's most recent economic assessment of Naval Station Everett, according to the Lynnwood Times. No date was given for that assessment.

The base ranks among Snohomish County's largest employers. In a July 2024 document, the Port of Everett identified Naval Station Everett and Boeing as the county's two biggest job creators. A separate Port of Everett press release from March 2024 called the station "the second largest job creator in Snohomish County."

"Naval Station Everett is one of the most critical entities in our county," EASC President and CEO Ray Stephanson said in a statement announcing the event.

Stephanson said EASC recognizes the economic investment and community contributions from the station's workforce and their families, and that the organization supports Wuthier's priorities for the base.

Advocacy push follows frigate cancellation

The address comes as EASC has stepped up its advocacy for the station. In January 2026, Stephanson announced he was reviving a committee to support Naval Station Everett, the Everett Herald reported, following the cancellation of Navy frigates that had been planned for homeporting at the base.

As of March 2024, the Navy had planned to homeport up to 12 Constellation-class guided-missile frigates at Naval Station Everett, according to a Port of Everett announcement. The status of that plan is unclear following the reported cancellation.

Wuthier is expected to cover ongoing projects, national defense priorities and the station's role in the community at the Oct. 15 address.
