The Everett Museum of History opened a new exhibit July 30, tracing the city's dairy farming roots through photographs, newspaper clippings, and artifacts collected from the families who built the industry here.
"Dairies: The cow butter story" runs through Oct. 3 at the Van Valey House, 2130 Colby Ave. Curator Rebecca Monaghan is available to walk visitors through the collection, which highlights the hardworking farm families behind Everett's once-thriving dairy trade.
The Van Valey House is open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m. Suggested donation is $5 for adults and $2 for students.

Schack Art Center — "Present Tense" (through Aug. 22)
The 24th Juried Exhibition at 2921 Hoyt Ave. showcases contemporary Pacific Northwest art across disciplines. Jurors Nancy Loorem Adams, Andrew Vallee, and Christian Waguespack selected the works. The show closes Saturday, Aug. 22.
APEX Kings Hall concerts
The venue at 1611 Everett Ave., now has three shows booked:
