At least 16 yard sales will line the streets of the Port Gardner neighborhood Saturday, July 18, as the Port Gardner Neighborhood Association hosts its fifth annual Community Yard Sale from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
New this year: the event expands east of Broadway into the "Towns" neighborhood near the riverfront, a first-time partnership that widens the treasure-hunting territory for shoppers.
The sale is free to attend. Sellers pay a sign-up fee to participate, receive an official yard sale sign, and get their address listed on a master map distributed to shoppers. Sign-up proceeds go to neighborhood schools.
"Everyone loves a good yard sale in the summer, and this is a great way to build community and invite people to experience the Port Gardner Neighborhood," Andrea Tucker, chair of the Port Gardner Neighborhood Association, told My Everett News.
Tucker said last year's fourth annual sale drew enough repeat sellers and new participants to grow the event into its current form. Some of the 16-plus sales are multi-family, with items ranging from antiques and furniture to children's toys, books, clothing, household goods, and free items.
The model follows the "Mother of All Garage Sales" in Everett's Northwest Neighborhood, where a coordinated sign-up and map system turns scattered individual sales into a walkable shopping route.

Councilmember Paula Rhyne, who represents Everett City Council District 2 and lives in Port Gardner, praised the association's work organizing the event. She said she looks forward to "a fun day of community and treasure hunting with neighbors."
