The Everett AquaSox drew 141,219 fans to Funko Field during the 2026 season, the team announced Saturday, Sept. 12, on social media.
The Mariners' High-A affiliate and defending 2025 Northwest League champions finished 67-65, closing the year with a 10-4 loss to the Spokane Indians on Sept. 6 at Avista Stadium in Spokane.
The final regular-season home game on Aug. 30 was a sellout at the 3,682-seat ballpark. The annual Frogstock game on Aug. 8 also sold out.
Several AquaSox players posted standout numbers. Infielder Brandon Eike earned Northwest League Player of the Month honors for August after hitting .359 with 33 hits, 11 doubles and a 1.089 OPS. Eike finished the year with a league-best 24 home runs and 122 hits. Luis Suisbel set the franchise record for home runs during the season, according to the AquaSox website.
The attendance total arrives as the AquaSox could be playing their final seasons at Funko Field. Everett's City Council voted 4-1 on Sept. 2 to approve a $3.5 million property purchase at 2303 Pacific Ave. for the proposed downtown Outdoor Events Center (OEC), bringing the city's total land spending on the project to about $18.1 million across six parcels, The Daily Herald reported.
The move gained urgency after Major League Baseball adopted new facility standards for minor league teams. Funko Field does not meet those requirements, and the AquaSox owner has been paying annual penalties while the team remains there, KOMO News reported.
The proposed 5,000-seat OEC, estimated at $120 million, would sit between Pacific Avenue and Hewitt Avenue along Broadway, east of Angel of the Winds Arena.
City officials have said they hope to open the stadium by the end of 2027, though the council has not given final approval to build. A full financial plan is expected by the end of September.
"We negotiated a very fair deal, and part of that was quick closing," city special projects manager Scott Pattison told the council at the Sept. 2 meeting, according to Snoho.com.
The AquaSox open the 2027 season at home April 2 against Spokane.
