Families needing to reach Evergreen Middle School this month won't find anyone at the front desk.

The school's main office is closed for all of July while construction crews upgrade the building's heating and air-conditioning systems, and staff have relocated to a nearby school.

The office is scheduled to reopen Monday, August 10, according to a notice posted on the Everett Public Schools website on Wednesday, June 17.

During July, families who need help with enrollment, records, or other services should email Tyler Ream at [email protected] or Medgar Wells at [email protected]. Both are available to arrange a phone call or in-person meeting on request.

The HVAC work is a phase II mechanical upgrade covering rooftop units and terminal units, funded by the district's 2022 Capital Levy. A district capital projects update from January 2026 listed the Evergreen project alongside a similar upgrade at Heatherwood Middle School, both scheduled for completion in summer 2026.

The school's first communication about the upcoming year, a "Pack News" newsletter, is scheduled for July 20. Additional updates will follow through August as the school prepares for the anticipated district-wide start of the 2026-27 school year on Wednesday, September 2 for grades 1–12. That date is not yet final; the official calendar depends on collective bargaining expected to conclude over the summer.
