Families looking for back-to-school help can pick up free backpacks stuffed with school supplies at the Annual Bayside Block Party & Backpack Giveaway.

The event, hosted by Mysti's Adult and Family Services, runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and open to everyone, the Everett Post reported. Backpacks will be distributed while supplies last.

Beyond the giveaway, the block party packs a full afternoon: burgers and hot dogs, cotton candy, bouncy houses, live music, a fire truck visit and an appearance by Webbly, the Everett AquaSox mascot. Community resource tables will connect families with local services and programs available year-round.

The event targets low-income families preparing for the school year but welcomes all neighbors, including those without school-age children. Everyone is a guest.

Mysti's Adult and Family Services is a Seattle-based nonprofit founded in 2016 by CEO Giovanne Schachere that provides housing support and re-entry services across Washington State. The Everett block party is part of its regional community programming.

Bible Way COGIC, the host venue on Wetmore Avenue, is led by Pastor A.C. Darby Jr. and Lady MaryAnn Darby.
