Everett workers and residents along W. Casino Road will get new bus stops starting Saturday, Aug. 29, as Community Transit rolls out its late-summer service changes across Snohomish County.

The biggest local addition. Sound Transit Route 513, which runs between Seaway Transit Center and Lynnwood City Center Station, will add stops on W. Casino Road to serve major employers and apartment complexes in Everett

Community Transit makes service adjustments four times a year to match shifting ridership demand. Route 271, connecting Everett Station to Gold Bar, will also see more weekday trips starting Aug. 29.

Weekend boost for Swift Blue Line

The agency said growing weekend ridership is driving added trips on six routes starting the same day. The Swift Blue Line, which runs from Everett Station to Shoreline North/185th Station, is among them.

Routes 201, 202, ST 512, ST 535 and 908 will also pick up weekend runs.

For workers who rely on weekend shifts at businesses near Everett Station or along the Swift Blue Line corridor, the added frequency will mean shorter waits between buses.

Route 515 retired

One route is going away entirely.

ST Route 515, which connected Lynnwood Transit Center to Seattle, will be discontinued Saturday, Aug. 29, now that Sound Transit Link light rail Lines 1 and 2 operate in Snohomish County. Riders are directed to use light rail or ST 510 instead.

Three other routes will see fewer trips: Route 102 (Edmonds Station to Lynnwood City Center Station), Route 904 (Marysville to Lynnwood City Center Station) and Route 909 (Edmonds Station to Mountlake Terrace Station).

Community Transit urges riders to check updated schedules and maps at communitytransit.org/schedules before the changes take effect. The agency's Plan My Trip tool works for Aug. 29 departures and beyond. Riders can also call Customer Care at (425) 353-7433 or email [email protected].

The changes come as Everett weighs a formal merger of Everett Transit into Community Transit, a process the city launched Aug. 12. These Aug. 29 adjustments affect only Community Transit and Sound Transit routes, not Everett Transit lines.
