Athleisure Collective, an Arlington-based fitness and wellness business, is expanding to Everett's waterfront with a 4,000-square-foot space along the South Marina promenade at Waterfront Place.
The company signed a 10-year lease for interior space and a surrounding patio in Marina Village, the Port of Everett announced Monday, Sept. 14. The Port Commission authorized the deal Thursday, Sept. 10.
The space, between Anthony's Homeport and Woodfire, will house three group fitness studios, a health-focused café and a boutique. Classes will range from reformer Pilates and yoga to cycling, HIIT and a "Build & Bond" session for parents and kids.
The café will serve smoothies, coffee and quick-grab food with dairy-, egg-, soy- and gluten-free options. The boutique will carry athleisure apparel and locally made products.
Founder and CEO Briana Bowers started Athleisure Collective in 2017 and opened its first brick-and-mortar location in Arlington in 2024. The Everett site will be the company's second in Snohomish County.
Bowers and her partner, TJ Scrupps, have more than four generations of family roots in Everett, including longshoremen and members of the city's commercial fishing industry. Bowers said in the Port's announcement that she and Scrupps are grateful for the chance to join the growing waterfront destination.
Port CEO Lisa Lefeber voiced support at the Sept. 10 commission meeting.
"We've been wanting something athletic and fitness for a very long time, and so this is the best of both worlds, and we've been trying to get a retail focus back into the South Marina," Lefeber said.
The lease marks a shift for the Port, which built out dining along Restaurant Row at Fisherman's Harbor and is now targeting lifestyle retail for the South Marina. In July, Lefeber described the South Marina as "empty" and outlined plans to activate it with temporary structures, The Daily Herald reported.
Waterfront Place recorded more than 1.8 million site visits in 2025, according to the Port. To date, the Port said it has facilitated more than $350 million in public and private investment at the development. At full build-out, the 65-acre site is planned for 63,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, two hotels and up to 660 housing units.
No opening date is set. Athleisure Collective expects to open its Everett location in early to mid-2027.
